How to sell a stamp collection?
A friend died and gave me a large 4 foot Long 16 "plastic bag filled to the high board with albums of stamps, some of which are quite old, and many stamps in bulk. Before dying, she was not well in their mind and withdraw taped some of the albums and mixed with all other phones. I know nothing about stamps. I know there are stamps from the mid 1800 in at least one album. She began collecting as a teenager and was 56 years old when he died, and part of this collection was started by his grandfather. I just want to get a fair price for it, but want to get rid of everything in one group. Suggestions? We live in a rural Minnesota …. there no sellers of stamps, etc. here.
Any collector who total volume of material that must be something important. The amount of money to be drawn from this collection will largely depend on the interest in determining what the collection is really interesting. I suggest you spend some time in the library and look in the catalogs of Scott, in the reference section and count some of the stamps 19th century get a sense of value. Spend time in the prologue to obtain a working knowledge of conditions and centered relative to the market value on the asset value. Person to make money you can make a low ball offer. Some traders to bid, but the response as others have said, never leave equipment out of sight. No need someone to take something home to give an assessment.
