The stamps are used in all countries in the world to show that postage has been paid letters and packages sent via postcards. It is a small rectangle shaped sticker that you attach to the upper right had corner of an envelope. Usually, an image or symbol on the label to describe a particular event for which it was issued, containing the name of the country in which it was issued, and the year. Since there are variations in names, the price is also evident in the seal. You may need several of them on a piece of mail to compensate for the exact amount of postage required to send the letter or packaging.
The first stamp was issued in 1840, May 6 in England. There were two of them – a black one penny and two pence blue. The Penny Black shows the head of Queen Victoria. After that date, many of royalty have been described in these tags. Brazil was the second country to open the use of these tags to pieces of mail in 1843. They were called portholes. Commemorative and special rates are only for special occasions to describe a particular event that is held or a particular time of year and are not available or used all the time.
